Biography[edit]
Aydan was born in 1951 in Istanbul as Erdoğan Kaşif.[1] She underwent sex reassignment surgery in Rome, Italy,[2] and then worked as a strip dancer in Switzerland. After returning to Turkey, she appeared in a number of pornographic films in the 1970s. She also performed as a singer on stage.[1]
Her debut came with the film Hızlım Benim.[3] Her father, Hüseyin Kaşif, once worked in the theatre. After her father married strip dancer Nur Ay, they produced a number of erotic films together with Emel Aydan.[4] Not all of her appearances were in pornographic movies. She also had a role in the drama movie Kader Bu, and in Halit Akçatepe's musical Lüküs Hayat.[4] Almost all of her movie appearances were between 1975 and 1979. During this period, she was featured in 20 pornographic films.[4]
